The Sierra-Lassen-Plumas Interoperability Network is an effort to build a wireless common backbone for multiple emergency, public life safety, and amateur radio users.

This will be a hybrid unlicensed/licensed microwave network between underdeveloped mountain top locations, such as fire lookouts. The project will be implemented and supported by amateur radio operators.
