Major Discussions Topics

  • SCaLE
    • AREDN and BAM at Scale went well last weekend. We handed out all our leaflets and credit cards. Spoke to lots of people who were interested in getting involved.
    • Won the Best Presentation prize, for the best show floor presentation
  • John Cornell
    • Emails exchange with the elusive John Cornell to connect his his Lamorinda network to BAM without a tunnel via the new hAP at Fish Ranch. John already has a radio link into Fish Ranch.
  • Site Updates
    • ORCA Update
      • Chris provided an update on the ORCA work. New antenna support was installed, together with a new sector antenna and backbone dish.
      • Camera was installed but is not yet operational.
    • San Bruno Mtn
      • PG&E power was out for a while at the site, and equipment did not restart when power was restored.
      • Tim visited on Saturday to fix this (looked like a thrown breaker).
    • San Carlos
      • San Carlos to Sunol Ridge link has been down. Theory was that the dish at San Carlos had moved
      • Dish had moved (confirmed by John later the same day).
    • Fire Station 8
      • Discussions with Bob I, owner of Fire Station 8 nodes, over the weekend and we now have them upgraded to the latest release + LQM.
  • NSM5 replacements
    • Dave is chasing a good AC replacement for the venerable NSM5
    • LiteAP 5AC is one option, but not yet supported
    • Tim will look at adding support
  • Backbone monitoring
    • Mathison notes the monitoring is too frequent and causing issue.
    • Tim will back it off so it's less frequent.
