An easy option here would be to place a single, 120° antenna which could cover the entire of 280 corridor and San Francisco's south side. Connecting this site to the rest of the mesh is trickier. It cannot see Building 7 (the obvious connection point). However, if we change the radio at Fish Ranch to an LTU unit, we could connect both Building 4 and Building 7 to the same backhaul point.

With Dennis's agreement we plan to mount a single 120° sector antenna with a Rocket AC radio to cover the entire 280 corridor the south side of San Francisco. In addition, we plan to install a backbone radio and dish pointing towards our Fish Ranch location to provide backhaul connectivity.

Notes

Dennis has kindly offered up his site to host antennas pointing towards downtown San Francisco, an area with poor coverage. He has also obtained permission from the local managers for us to host antennas inside the secure fenced area.

June 2023

With the mounting of the new pole at the site, we can move forward with an AREDN system.

Plans

With Dennis's agreement we plan to mount a single 120° sector antenna with a Rocket AC radio to cover the entire 280 corridor the south side of San Francisco. In addition, we plan to install a backbone radio and dish pointing towards our Fish Ranch location to provide backhaul connectivity.
